By definition, adultery is probably considered wrong. Even if you simply view it as a relationship between two married people, it can still be seen as an act of betrayal.
People who take that kind of thing seriously jump on the “cheating is wrong!” bandwagon, siding with tabloid bashing and acting like they’re champions of justice.
Christianity banned adultery long ago, so it became universally regarded as unacceptable.
That’s all there is to it. I say, do whatever you want.
