Papas, when do you get the feeling that a girl has another papa (or boyfriend)? Do you ever pick up on it? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Normally, I think people enter these arrangements assuming the other person may have other papas as well, so I’m not sure there’s a specific moment when they would realize it. However, if someone says, “I don’t have any other papas,” when they actually do, I think it might become obvious when it’s difficult to make plans for dates. Also, if they later talk about times when their schedules didn’t line up, you may get suspicious if the reason is slightly different from what they said before.

I date them on the assumption that they have other papas, so that may be influencing how I see things, but here are some signs: - They don’t come on too strong even if we can’t meet often (they have other sources of income). - They’re generally vague or dishonest about things (they don’t share personal details or where they live, which feels very professional). - Their available dates are limited even though they don’t seem particularly busy (as if coordinating their schedule is difficult). - The relationship stays superficial, there’s a sense of distance, and it feels strongly transactional—they leave right on time. Here are some signs that a girl probably has other papas (though I’m sure there are exceptions): - She meets during the day and has plans in the evening or at night (though usually she doesn’t). - When she suggests four or five possible dates, you immediately reply, “Any of those days works for me,” but she doesn’t respond right away—or only gives you a date later than the earliest option (though sometimes she replies quickly with the soonest date). - Or, when you tell her at the last minute that one of the proposed dates works, she says she’s no longer available (even though she is). - Her dates always fit neatly into four or five hours (sometimes longer or shorter). - Even when the date ends up being only two or three hours, shorter than usual, she still takes the full allowance (saying things like, “I couldn’t accept it…”). - She only meets about once a week (or only once a week), though some meet twice or three times or more. - She doesn’t talk much about what happened yesterday, what’s happening tomorrow, or anything around those days (while others keep sharing more and more details until they run out of things to talk about). - Even when she brings up thinking about leaving Universe, her profile still stays active (or she takes a leave of absence without ever mentioning it). - She takes her phone with her to the restroom (or doesn’t). - You never get an opportunity to learn her real name or address (or it naturally comes up). - She doesn’t look for a new place to move into together (or she does). Did I just reveal all the clever ways they hide it? P.S. Honestly, I have no idea whether any of them have other papas. But when it comes to my absolute favorites, they all meet the opposite criteria, so it doesn’t bother me.

I’m Flag Maker, a columnist. As I understand it, Universe Club lets women receive offers from as many men as they want. It’s not like they have to wait until things end with one man before accepting another offer, so most of the women who are publicly listed probably already have other papas, right?
