This came up in a slightly earlier question, but I find girls from academically strong schools tend to be more refined—and more enjoyable to talk to—than those from schools known specifically as prestigious “ladies’ schools.” They’re not just girls who dress the part, so to speak. After all, the more nouveau riche the parents, the more likely they are to send their daughters to schools labeled as ladies’ schools. That’s why I feel that using “ladies’ school graduate” as a selling point has more of a negative effect than a positive one. Of course, girls who attended famous private schools that send graduates to the University of Tokyo or Kyoto University and are now at highly selective, traditional universities generally don’t come to places like this. Do you all ask the girls you approach where they went to school? I do.

That’s a bit rude（笑） Anyway, setting that aside— There are actually quite a few women here who attend or have graduated from highly ranked universities. On the other hand, some men specifically target those women. Simply seeking them out is one thing, but apparently some of these men lecture them and tell them not to engage in prostitution. Then, the day after the date, the woman contacts us saying, “This isn’t for me, so I’m leaving the site.” It’s quite a problem. It’s possible they’re trying to get intimate without paying and claim that accepting money makes it prostitution, but the women are frightened and won’t tell us the details even when we ask. So, a word of caution to women: Don’t tell someone your university’s name as soon as you meet them. I think it’s better to share it only with someone you’ve met several times and come to trust.

I found Rachel’s column interesting, especially since she’s a female member who graduated from the University of Tokyo, and that was one of the reasons I decided to join. You’ll probably enjoy things more if you don’t try to fit everything into a mold and let go of preconceived notions. People don’t really ask where I went to school, but if they did, I might tell them. I’d feel a little uncomfortable being asked on the first day, though.
