I checked just now, and Tokyo had exactly 2,000. However, the women you can go on dates with in Tokyo aren’t limited to those who live in Tokyo. For example, even if someone works in Tokyo, many women live in Saitama, Chiba, or Kanagawa. The same applies to dating. So, if you combine the women in Tokyo, Chiba, Omiya, and Yokohama, you get a number that’s closer to the actual figure: 3,285. That means you can think of it as being able to make offers to more than 3,000 women. Furthermore, if you have the financial means, you could even invite a woman from Sapporo to Tokyo for a date, or bring someone from Osaka to Tokyo. This would depend on whether she agrees, and you’d also need to cover her actual transportation costs in addition to her allowance. In that case, you could potentially date more than 7,000 women. And there are new women signing up every month, so by staying registered for just one year, a man could potentially date more than 14,000 women.

I’m Paper Airplane, a male member. In Tokyo, there seem to be at least three or four times as many women you’d like or want to make an offer to compared with Kansai. The membership classes are also one or two levels higher than in regional areas such as Kansai—for example, Tokyo’s Standard is roughly equivalent to Gold or Platinum outside the capital. Because there are so many appealing and popular women, popularity becomes concentrated. As a result, even women who would be fairly popular in Kansai may not stand out as much in Tokyo. I had assumed the going rates were higher because the overall level is higher and Tokyo is a major city, but perhaps because there are so many members and popularity is so unevenly distributed, the rates fluctuate much more. My impression is that things are considerably tougher for women than in regional areas. The lower end in particular feels extremely harsh and unforgiving in Tokyo. In Kansai, there seems to be some room for compassion, whereas in Tokyo there’s very little leniency, making it feel quite severe and unfavorable. I’m not sure whether there’s an upper limit, since I’ve never experienced it myself.
