You get to visit places you could never afford on your own, enjoy delicious food for free, have experiences you normally couldn’t, hear stories about worlds you know nothing about, be made to feel good, and even receive some spending money. I’ve met around ten women, and every one of them said, almost in unison, “They were all good people.” You may occasionally encounter a man who is unbearable to be around, but I get the impression that the chances of meeting a terrible man through Universe are fairly low. I once read a column aimed at women claiming that 90% of papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) consists of unpleasant experiences, which made me wonder whether women were doing it reluctantly. But I’m sure that can’t be true. What do you think?

I’m Saito, a column writer ♪ There are many women involved in papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), so I don’t think you can make a blanket statement. That said, I do think Universe Club has relatively few of them. (There are various ways of putting it and different perspectives, but if that’s how you feel, I agree with you.) However, I also know of women who met someone through a dating club and later took their own lives. Of course, I don’t know whether the cause was the dating club or their personal circumstances. But there are all kinds of people, and each of them registers with a dating club for their own reasons. They say the brighter the light, the deeper the darkness. I hope dating clubs continue to quietly expand from the bottom, without ever becoming too prominent. In conclusion, I think you have a knack for attracting women like that!
