I’m seeing someone who told me he wants to pursue a relationship with marriage in mind, but what should I make of him suddenly saying he’s too busy with work to meet??
Does this mean he no longer wants to see me?
He’s canceled on me at the last minute several times in a row, saying he’s too busy with work—even on days when we already had plans to meet.
It all happened so suddenly, and I’m shocked and unsure how I should handle things from here…

A man who gets asked to marry through papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan)…
Honestly, are you sure you’re okay with a man like that?
I used to wonder whether anyone ever met through dating sites and ended up getting married, but I was surprised to find that it has actually happened to someone around me. I only know one such person, but it made me think that maybe it isn’t completely impossible.
That said, even though the women say, “Oh no, there are actually quite a few men like that,” I don’t think there are many who really end up getting married.
It seems like an even lower position than an affair, though…
In any case, it’s good that you were able to recognize that he’s the kind of person who doesn’t take responsibility for his words. When a man doesn’t suggest an alternative date, it may also mean that he isn’t particularly interested.
