Ah, yes, yes—I understand what the questioner is trying to say.
I often feel the same way.
Everyone is meeting more people, and papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) has become commonplace.
I think it’s that “casual” aspect that makes it feel so lukewarm…
(Sorry if I’ve misunderstood.)
Once everything becomes saturated and the usual patterns start to become established, things get difficult.
The excitement of catching a fish for the first time when you go fishing is indescribable. Finding a “secret spot” used to feel amazing, but these days I sometimes find myself thinking, “Oh, it was just full of little fish.”
Maybe it’s also a difference in how seriously people take it…?
I spend around 40 million yen a year dating women, but as the questioner says, I distract myself with the sheer numbers. That way, I can play the hypocrite and tell myself that I can’t seriously make women do things that would intrude on their lives.
I run my company with the mindset of, “Is this person going to be okay?”
Even if I offered to four or five women at once, held a dinner gathering, and casually spent time with the few who could keep up, I might still find myself sighing once everyone had gone home. The questioner’s seriousness might be difficult for them to understand.
I think the questioner is a sincere person.
Working with someone like that would make it possible to share in the joy of success.
