I’m a female member, and things have been going terribly. It’s really getting me down.

Several male members I felt would be enjoyable to see on a low-key, long-term basis have suddenly become unavailable one after another. The first told me he could no longer see me due to personal circumstances, canceled on the day of our date, and then gradually faded out. The next person I met became ill, and we haven’t been able to see each other for over three months. Lately, he’s been leaving my messages on read. Then the person I met after that contacted me to say that he might have cancer, so our meeting at the end of the month was canceled. I only receive about three offers a year on average to begin with, so I’m feeling really depressed and wondering if I’m just unbelievably unlucky. Maybe they were simply letting me down in the kindest way possible, but is it time for me to quit the club? I do believe that enjoying our time together should come first, but I can’t help wondering whether I’m being punished for my less-than-pure motives—counting on the allowance to help support my life. This is basically just a rant, so please delete it if it’s not appropriate for this Q&A site.
