As a general rule, negotiations about money should be handled directly between the two people involved, so I think it’s difficult to give specific figures. Still, I’ll offer my own answer.
Of course, this is just my personal take, so please forgive me if it rubs anyone the wrong way.
In the past—about five years ago, if I remember correctly—regardless of whether it was Universe or another club, members generally had an unspoken understanding that they would pay roughly the same amount as the introduction fee. (Roughly speaking, okay? Please don’t take this as gospel—there are all kinds of circumstances!)
So women who have been doing papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) for a long time may understandably get frustrated when they see the amounts being offered these days. This was back when papa-katsu was kept more discreet and the balance between the quality and number of men and women was fairly even.
What about now?
As things have become more casual and competition has intensified for both women and men, I think the reality is that many women are willing to accept a lower amount just to have someone become their papa (a male supporter), while many men are trying to get an agreement by negotiating the allowance down.
Speaking from my own experience, I was a Platinum member, but I got completely hooked on one woman and sometimes gave her an extremely generous allowance—literally two handfuls. Even so, I soon ended the relationship because I thought, “At that point, I’d rather meet someone in the Black class.”
That’s the background behind her explanation that she had “received that amount in the past.”
However, during the initial membership interview, some women may view papa-katsu as unconditional financial support and join after believing only the favorable stories they’ve heard, such as, “You can get ¥100,000 just for having dinner, or ¥300,000 for being intimate with someone even if you’re not attractive.”
Of course, since these clubs are not arranging prostitution, they can’t tell someone, “Your rank is worth ¥〇〇.” All they can really do is ask about the general atmosphere and provide an answer within reasonable limits, I suppose.
Some women have said 70,000 yen when asked cold, while others have said 30,000 yen even in the Black class. Apparently, some don’t ask for an allowance at all.
Five in the Platinum class isn’t exceptionally low, but if she reacted negatively, then I’d say it simply wasn’t a match and the matter should be closed.
(It’s possible that offers flooded in after she was told it was “average,” leaving her in a position to receive more and be selective about the men she met.)
I hope you find a great match too!
