As the income gap between men and women narrows, wouldn’t it be more strategic for women to shift from marriage to prostitution? More specifically, wouldn’t the optimal strategy be to engage in prostitution until their mid-20s, then get married in their late 20s?

I’m Date◎Yume, a male member. I think income disparities vary depending on which group you belong to. If both the man and woman are in a growth-oriented group, the gender gap will probably narrow. Likewise, if both are in groups where their income has plateaued, the gap will likely narrow as well… The gap will probably widen even further when the man is in a growth-oriented group and the woman is in a stagnant one. Conversely, if the woman is in a growth-oriented group and the man is in a stagnant one, I think the situation may even reverse.

I’m Saito, a columnist♪ The income gap… Compared with other developed countries, incomes are low for both men and women. Men should be earning more, and women should be given more opportunities to improve their financial standing as well. I believe it’s only right that both stand on an equal footing.
