If it were me, I’d take it as just a polite formality.
Even as a woman, if a man says he’d rather not exchange LINE contacts and only communicate by text messages, I’d find it less hurtful to assume that things simply didn’t work out.
Regardless of how you choose to deal with this man, keep meeting more papas (male supporters). One probably isn’t enough, and you may feel uneasy relying on just one.
Yes, it’s a good idea to keep around seven in the rotation.

It’s possible the SMS didn’t come through properly.
During an enrollment interview, I once met a man who said he didn’t really know how to use SMS when I contacted him that way. (He could use email, but didn’t know where to check his text messages.)
So I think it might be a good idea to try calling him. If you let it ring for about two rings, he may call you back later even if he’s busy at the time.
Also, I think it’s perfectly fine to look for a new male supporter. Whether or not you hear back from him about this matter, you might as well keep looking.

In my case, I’ve blocked incoming text messages, so it’s entirely possible that this male member has done the same.
Why not try calling him once? Maybe during his lunch break, sometime between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m., or on the weekend?
If you still can’t reach him, I think it’s fine to move on to the next step.
Most people would probably update their photos and other information without contacting the man involved, but I can tell that you’re being considerate.
I hope you both continue enjoying the club in a way that benefits you both.
