Meeting at night and parting ways in the morning, I feel like bringing a large bag would be a little awkward. If you’re traveling together, going to various places the next day, and parting ways at night, then I can understand needing a change of clothes. But if you meet at night and leave in the morning, I don’t think it would seem that strange not to bring one. I assume the idea is to be properly prepared because it isn’t a last-minute overnight stay. Even then, though, I think it’s best to keep everything in one small bag.

If I have that much free time, I’d rather be working, and staying overnight makes me feel so self-conscious and tired, haha. Though, I might actually enjoy traveling with the Type A college girl I’m currently having the most fun dating. If I were going to travel, I’d want it to be with someone like her. Once you’ve already had an adult relationship with someone, staying overnight together doesn’t really make you nervous anymore.

As I wrote in my previous answer, everyone has their own opinions and feelings about things. That said, speaking personally, I’d think a woman carrying a suitcase was being a bit dramatic—but if it turned out to be packed with a huge makeup kit, I might understand. Even then, I’d probably still think she wasn’t very practical. A large bag wouldn’t make me think of a mother, since she doesn’t have children with her.
