I always enjoy reading this site! The other day, a man told me, “I don’t want you seeing other men.” I just laughed it off at the time, but what would have been a good way to respond? My honest feelings are that I already have offers from other men and plan to meet them as well. If I were to see only him, I’d need an allowance high enough to make up for what I’d be receiving from the others. But saying, “That would be an exclusivity agreement, so please increase my allowance,” feels a little awkward, and now I’m unsure whether to continue seeing him. I’d really appreciate your opinions.

I’m Saito, a columnist♪ Be sure to tell them, “You’re the only one.” And that’s it. No problem at all. That’s all there is to it. lol Words are free.

I’ll answer this one too. > I laughed it off at the time, but what would have been the best thing to say? I think it was good that you didn’t lie. Wasn’t the way you handled it fine? That said, the same topic may come up again on your next date. They might even get more specific. If that happens, it probably means your hopes and terms don’t align, so perhaps it would be better to end things. However, if you’re willing to consider breaking up, you could also try saying something like: “I’d really prefer to be with you exclusively, but I need more money to reach my goals… I wish there were a good solution.” That might be worth discussing.

I’m a male member who’s been with the club for two and a half years—still lost in my 60s. I feel sorry for the male member who told his partner, “I don’t want you seeing anyone else.” I guess there really are women like that. If he’s saying that, I assume he must be giving her a fairly generous allowance. And yet… Looking back, I realize how fortunate I am to have met women who quit the club on their own—even though I wasn’t giving them particularly much allowance—and then told me, “I quit the club…” Thank you!
