And when you say “a long-term papa,” that could mean seeing each other once a month for a year—or practically living together for ten years.
You should probably realize that your question is about as clueless as asking, “What’s the best way to meet a young, cute girl and take her home that same day?”
Personally, I’ve ended relationships through face-to-face discussions, and other times they’ve simply faded away after we stopped contacting each other. The best way to end things depends on the relationship and circumstances up to that point.
