The other day, I went in for an interview to re-register. A female staff member reprimanded me in a rather intimidating tone for having canceled a date and interview on the same day in the past because I genuinely wasn’t feeling well—not as an excuse, but due to unavoidable circumstances. She told me that my rating had gone down, so I would be less likely to receive offers.
I fully understand that I was at fault for canceling such an important arrangement because I hadn’t managed my health properly, but it was still really upsetting and frightening. It feels almost traumatic, and I’m starting to feel like I don’t want to continue with papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) at all.
A male member I met told me that his interview was finished remotely in just three minutes.
Does Universe Club not really welcome women signing up as members? I’ve lost trust in them and am wondering whether I should withdraw.

That’s pretty harsh.
I’m extremely tolerant of last-minute cancellations, which is why my regulars cancel on me all the time, lol. But it honestly doesn’t bother me at all. If someone cancels, I just work instead, so I sometimes even feel like I’ve come out ahead.
Women are just the kind of creatures who cancel at the last minute, you know.
There’s also a new woman I haven’t even met yet who’s canceled on me over and over, but I don’t mind in the slightest. If anything, I find her excuses for canceling more entertaining each time.

My monthly arrangement has only canceled on the day once in five years.
Twice is completely unacceptable. If you want to continue, all you can do is do your best if you get another chance.
My interview with the man also lasted an hour. Three minutes is a lie.

You may be a modern woman, but try to think about the man you’re seeing as well—not just yourself.
He’s adjusting his schedule for the date and making a reservation at a restaurant.
Last-minute cancellations are understandably upsetting, and depending on the circumstances, he may even have to pay a cancellation fee.
From the club’s perspective, you’re the source of the complaint.
Wouldn’t it be perfectly natural for the club not to prioritize a woman who causes complaints?
If you don’t like being told off so harshly, you can always quit. But with that attitude, you probably wouldn’t last in a regular daytime job either.

If you contact them even on the day and reschedule, your rating shouldn’t drop right away, should it?
Was it a last-minute cancellation? If so, I’m afraid it’s understandable that you’d be warned.
If you reschedule and your papa’s feedback isn’t negative, your rating shouldn’t drop, so I wonder if there’s some other reason.
The screening process for male members may take a little longer, though.
If this isn’t right for you, it might be better for your sake to leave the club and try an app or something instead.

To be honest, they may not be all that welcoming unless you’re a new woman.
It’s probably more like, “Let’s register her just in case she gets an offer,” isn’t it?
That said, if she were extremely popular and had offers pouring in, they’d be more than happy to accept her.
That’s probably just the way things work in this world…
But if she’s canceled twice or more, then as Kazu-san wrote, she’s completely out of the question.

Of course we welcome female members registering.
That said, we can’t exactly welcome people who cancel on the day of their date or interview more than twice. If you don’t like it, I think you’d be better off quitting.
My interview took about an hour.
Three minutes? That’s incredibly quick—no, not quick to climax, just an awfully impatient man.
There wouldn’t even be time to explain the rules, so if what that member says is true, I’d want staff like that to leave.
