As the other respondents have said, that’s pretty much what you can expect from apps and social media. There are also plenty of people who are just looking to waste your time. I tried it briefly before joining a club, but the quality was so poor that I quit after a month.

That’s not really a scam—it’s just a common troll getting their kicks. It was through an app or social media, right? If they were going to verify her identity, the person asking would probably leave after arriving. The same goes for scams, but with things like this, the people involved often believe it right to the very end without realizing what’s happening. It seems obvious to everyone else.
