Before meeting a papa-katsu woman, I trim my nails and then smooth them with a glass nail file I bought on Amazon (around 800 yen), making sure there are no rough edges.
I pay especially close attention to the index and middle fingers on my right hand, since I often use them for touching and fingering. I trim those nails so they’re shorter than the fingertips, then file them thoroughly.
I highly recommend glass nail files. They leave your nails really smooth.

I recommend Tamiya sandpaper, from 400 to 1000 grit!

For something men can use casually, wouldn’t a sponge-like nail buffer sold at 100-yen shops be a good option? (Let’s set aside for now whether it’s good or bad for your nails.)
Professional care tools like nippers are also great, but amateurs often go too far, so it may be better not to do it yourself and visit a salon instead. Some salons will even take care of basic grooming like trimming and shaping your nails.
No matter your age, looking well-groomed is important.
