Can foreign women join a club? If their Japanese isn’t very good, could they fail the interview, or be unable to get offers from papas simply because they’re foreign?

There are foreign female members as well, so as others have said, you should have no problem registering. Whether you receive offers will likely depend on how appealing your profile is to potential supporters. Some members who state that they only speak Japanese at a conversational level still have five-star ratings, so I don’t think it should be an issue. I’d suggest contacting the club first and having a meeting with the staff.

Universe Club has an International division, so there are female members from overseas as well. Some of them speak very little Japanese. There is definitely a language barrier, but I think some men are drawn to their distinctly non-Japanese looks or their unapologetically straightforward personalities. I’ve made offers to several myself, and one of those relationships even lasted for a few years. Also, the language barrier actually isn’t all that significant. Everyday conversation can get by with little more than the “sa-shi-su-se-so” responses, lol. (Look it up if you don’t know what I mean.) Of course, language skills become important when you want to get to know each other deeply, but most people continue seeing each other without having many deep conversations anyway, right? Yes, I think you should be able to join. The women I’ve met could speak at least some Japanese, so I don’t know how limited your Japanese can be before they turn you down at the interview. I did speak English with women whose Japanese was good enough that communicating in English was easier than speaking Japanese. They seemed to be able to register with that level of Japanese, and judging from the way you wrote your question, your Japanese seems close to native-level, so I don’t think your language ability will be an issue. Whether men are attracted to a foreign-looking woman depends on the individual, but based on what I’ve heard from women I’ve met, it may put you at a slight disadvantage.
