The women I’ve seen are usually younger than me and have a lot of live events to attend, so that’s often why things come to an end. Two of mine quit papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) after getting married. I’m still connected with one of them on LINE, and she sometimes sends me pictures of her kids, lol. Other reasons have been graduating from university, getting transferred to another department and becoming too busy with work, or suddenly cutting off contact. And, of course, sometimes I met another woman I liked better and stopped seeing them myself. That’s about it, I think.

Rather than there being a specific trigger, maybe he simply never liked you that much to begin with. I know people who continue seeing women they met through a dating club, as well as people they met normally, for years at a time. Other than in my twenties, I’ve never ended a relationship. People say I’m the kind of person who gets more appealing the longer you spend time with me—like dried squid that gets tastier the more you chew it. Generally speaking, I think there are people who get bored the more they see someone, and people whose bond deepens over time. There are also people who want to move from one partner to the next, and people who prefer to deepen their relationship with someone who’s better—or the best fit for them. I don’t think either person can bring themselves to part with someone they’re convinced is truly the one best partner they’ll ever have in their entire life. If you haven’t built that level of connection, I think it’s possible to part ways smoothly, without any lingering regrets.

I think it’s usually because: - They found someone better. - Their circumstances changed due to marriage, starting a job, changing jobs, or a transfer. - They got used to you and became more careless in how they treated you.

She got so overwhelmed with work that she became mentally unwell and stopped responding. She got married. She enrolled in school and moved far away. She didn’t reply on LINE for two days. She repeatedly asked to borrow money. She gained over 80 kg. She had a habit of being late. She got a boyfriend, and we ended things amicably. These are some examples from my experience.
