When I was about 8 kg heavier than I am now, I started losing my erection during sex.
After I lost weight and no longer met the criteria for metabolic syndrome, it stopped happening completely.
If you’re in your 40s, I think improving your lifestyle can eliminate the problem.

Medically speaking, the biggest factor is age, as reduced blood flow to the genitals makes it harder to get and stay hard.
Just as women may have trouble getting wet, the causes differ from man to man, and external factors can play a role too.
Personally, since I take ED medication, I can usually get hard and rarely lose my erection midway.
However, if the woman is unresponsive, seems uninterested, feels too loose, or has strong body odor or bad breath, I sometimes can’t get hard or lose my erection midway.

Thank you for your question. I’ll answer this as well.
That said, in this day and age, with the internet at our fingertips, you can find the answer right away just by searching. When I looked it up, I found the following:
● Atherosclerosis caused by lifestyle-related diseases (40s–50s)
Atherosclerosis is arguably the most common cause of losing an erection among middle-aged and older men.
As people age, their blood vessels naturally harden and gradually become clogged. When this becomes severe, it can lead to a heart attack or stroke. However, because the blood vessels in the penis are extremely narrow, erectile dysfunction can appear as an early symptom of atherosclerosis.
For that reason, losing an erection is also considered an indicator of the progression of atherosclerosis. In other words, if you start experiencing this, it may be a sign that you need to pay even more attention to your health than before.
● Psychological and mental factors (20s–30s)
● Declining erectile function due to aging (60s and older)
As we age, all kinds of physical “strength” decline. I think everyone is aware that their stamina, endurance, explosive power, muscle strength, eyesight, hearing, memory, and so on gradually deteriorate over the years.
Some people may hope that their erectile function won’t decline as long as their sex drive remains strong, but unfortunately, erectile function also weakens with age.
That’s what came up in my search.
Incidentally, in a survey asking women how they felt when a man lost his erection, the results were apparently:
1. “He must be tired” (44.8%)
2. “I started worrying that he might not find me attractive” (28%)
3. “He must be stressed from work or something” (25.2%)
4. “It’s probably due to age, so it can’t be helped” (25.1%)
5. “I felt disappointed” (17.5%)
6. “He must have had too much to drink” (17.0%)
It seems many Japanese women are quite understanding.
That said, regarding the second response—“I started worrying that he might not find me attractive”—men should probably be considerate of their partner’s feelings.
These days, there are medications such as Viagra, so if you have the desire but your body isn’t cooperating, relying on medication might be an option.
And if you’d rather not depend on medication, it may be best to tell the woman beforehand—or simply stick to dates involving dinner or other activities and call it a night.

I lose my erection when I can’t fully get into sex—for example, when I sense that my partner is just putting on an act.
