How about thinking of it as helping someone in desperate poverty—like making a donation? (>_<)

If he’s a club member, report it to the club.
If it wasn’t through a club and was arranged via an app, is there really any way to identify him once he’s already disappeared?
It may be better to accept that you were too trusting and move on—trying to track him down would take a lot of time and effort. Are you going to hire a private investigator? That sounds like a lot of trouble.
Next time, take your wallet with you when you shower.

That way of thinking is disgusting.
You need to repent.

It’s more constructive to think, “If it can be stolen, it’s partly your fault,” I suppose...
Personally, whenever a woman leaves her wallet behind to go to the bathroom, I always tell her, “You should take your valuables with you.”
It’s also part of the performance to earn her trust.

I’d just accept that she was that kind of woman, lament my poor judgment, and move on.

If you’re not used to the situation, it can be scary, so when I go to the bathroom, I take my bag with me and keep it somewhere visible.
For your next outing, you should put your wallet and valuables in a Ziploc bag. That’s the safest option.

I try to think that, no matter what happens—even if something gets stolen—I’m the one at fault.
Why not just tell your parents, “I want to marry this person”?

Stealing is a crime, so the other person is in the wrong—assuming the theft actually happened.
That said, retaliation can also be a crime, depending on the circumstances, so try to stay calm. I understand why you’re angry if they took advantage of your position, but I don’t think you need to stoop to their level.
Why did you write “no criticism, please”? lol
If you’re capable of looking at things objectively, you should be fine, shouldn’t you?

As you know, Japan is a country governed by the rule of law, and people aren’t granted the right to take revenge. I believe the best course of action would be to report it to the police.
The fact that you can’t do that suggests you may have something in your own past you’d rather keep hidden. At 40, I can’t really support this “tracking down their identity and so on” approach. It’s just not a good look.

How much money was involved? The best way to handle it depends on the amount. If it was a small sum and you make a big issue of it, you could end up being exposed to your family or suffering other consequences. Think it through carefully.

If you make a fuss, it may come back to hurt you too, so as だて◎ゆめさん said, I think it would be better to stay quiet and let it go.
I know it’s difficult, but let’s move on.

It’s probably best to stay quiet and let the stolen money go, like Mac did. Money comes and goes. I think taking the mature approach is best.

Is it an app?
Can someone really find out your identity that quickly?! That’s scary.
Why not go to the police?
