Universe Club uses club names, but do you all tell the people you’re seeing your real names? The person I’m seeing keeps persistently asking for my real name, and it’s becoming a problem. They say they’d be happy with just my first name. Since we’re given club names, I’d prefer to be called by mine. I feel it would be rude to give them a fake name, so I’d appreciate any advice on how best to handle this.

We both know exactly who the other person is, haha. But when we communicate or meet, we use our club names. We should turn it into an event, haha—once we’ve passed our first anniversary. Until then, I think it’s best to stick with our club names!

I don’t ask Fuu directly, but since most LINE accounts use people’s first names, I can usually find out a woman’s first name without asking her. Fuu makes restaurant reservations online using his real name, so all of his monthly partners know it. Since I don’t share my workplace or address even if I tell them my real name, I figure it’s probably fine. Papas who ask are such a hassle. You could either: - Insist on using your club name, or - Tell them only your first name and nothing more. I’d probably see how things go and handle it depending on the situation.

The person I met today showed me their business card and told me everything, including what they do for work and even their real name. They said it would come up if I searched online, so I looked—and their face was prominently displayed too. When I asked if that was really okay, they just said, “It’s fine♪” That’s such a lack of caution… They said, “I told you mine, too,” and kept asking for my real name over and over, which put me in an awkward position… I only gave them a hint, but then they said I’d have to tell them if we met a second time, so I didn’t know what to do.

Some women incorporate part of their real name into their club name. For example, if their real name is “Eri,” they might use “Erika” as their club name. That way, they can respond naturally when someone calls their name. And if he says that just her real first name is fine, they may feel less hesitant about revealing it, since it’s almost the same as their club name anyway. But if you don’t want to use only a club name, I think it’s fine to create another name for casual partners as well. You may feel guilty because it seems like you’re lying, but if someone wants to know your real name, I think it’s perfectly fine to have a separate name ready for that situation. The man might get angry if he finds out, but then you can simply assume that you two weren’t meant to be. It’s perfectly fine to part ways with someone who gets angry over it. Date someone who won’t get angry.

I don’t maintain long-term relationships with women who won’t tell me their real names. I always give them my full name.

The first name in my club name is my real name, but I write it in hiragana. I do that from the start because if we exchange LINE contacts, my name appears in the Roman alphabet, and I figured it might be a hassle if they didn’t match.

For some reason, every girl I’m currently seeing has told me her real name during the first meeting (toward the end), so I’ve told them mine as well—not simply because they shared theirs, but because my intuition told me it was okay. Normally, I think using your club name is perfectly fine. If the other person is persistent, it may be better to give them a fake name. And then end things with them.

I’ll ask for her first name once, but I won’t ask a second time. I don’t ask for her surname, but after we’ve gotten close over a few months, she’ll sometimes tell me naturally when making travel or spa reservations. Maybe it’s because I tell her my full name, but I’ve never had anyone refuse to tell me so far. You shouldn’t keep pressing her about it. Just give her a fake name.

Sometimes, you may exchange real names as the relationship develops, but if someone asks while you’re still getting to know each other, I’d insist that your club name is your real name. No matter what someone lacking that much tact says, I think it’s perfectly fine to keep insisting that your club name is your real name. P.S. Come to think of it, women often tell me their first names when we exchange LINE contacts, without me even asking.

When I meet someone from papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), I’m thinking of telling them my real first name, at least. What does everyone else do? For reference, I use “A” or just my initial as my LINE name, so if I don’t want to tell someone my real name, I sometimes give them a different name that starts with A instead lol.
