I think the questioner must have been exceptionally attractive and lucky with men.
Most men decide the allowance based on a woman’s appearance.
That’s only natural from a competitive standpoint. If they didn’t, other men would offer more, and they’d no longer be able to date her.

I’ve never paid more than ¥50,000 to a non-professional woman.
