I've been registered for about a year, but there's only one person I've met four or more times. Even when I have plans to meet a male member, I'm afraid I'll be abandoned again. I don't feel anxious while we're actually together, but eventually they stop replying to my LINE messages and leave me. I basically never cut people off myself. I compare myself to other women and end up hating myself every day. What am I doing wrong? I get about five offers a month, yet when things turn out like this, I can't help wondering whether there's something wrong with my personality. For reference, my allowance is higher than average. The average amount feels cheaper than what you'd pay at a high-end soapland, and considering that it includes dinner as well, that's difficult for me. Even when I take the risks of dealing privately into account, it's something I can't compromise on. Could you tell me what the possible reasons might be? They seem to like me before we part after the first meeting.

To begin with, the chances of someone meeting you three or four times or more are pretty low. If you can’t build an ongoing arrangement with a good papa (a male supporter) within the first 5–10 offers, papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) may continue to be difficult for you.

There’s nothing wrong with having your own ideas about the allowance. However, I think it’s probably mistaken to use the rates at an upscale soapland as your benchmark, because you’re comparing things that can’t really be compared. That said, if you insist on comparing them by amount, you clearly don’t know much about how upscale soaplands operate. The women working at upscale soaplands receive only about 60% of the total amount the customer pays. On top of that, the establishment deducts fees for things like towels. These are basic expenses they have to pay even if they don’t get a single customer. At one nationally famous members-only upscale soapland in a certain prefecture, the women are required to keep five orchids in their room, and they have to pay for those themselves. In other words, the amount a soapland worker actually takes home is surprisingly low. That’s why the popular women see four or more customers a day. Only then can they earn the amount you’re hoping for. I’m not saying this is a matter of one being better or worse than the other. My point is that the physical labor and mental exhaustion involved are completely incomparable. And because they aren’t comparable, I feel that your insistence on bringing up “upscale soaplands” may be one reason your arrangements don’t last.

You have certain non-negotiables based on the standards of a high-end soapland. Is that really the only thing you won’t compromise on? Aren’t there plenty of others too? lol At the start of any relationship, you’re both feeling each other out, so I’m always the one making compromises, haha. But when a woman notices that and makes an effort to be considerate, those compromises feel worthwhile—and you naturally want to see her again. As long as you’re weighing the continuation of the relationship against the things you refuse to compromise on, I don’t think the fundamental issue will change. It’s painful when things feel like splitting the bill down to the last yen and asking the cashier to ring everything up separately. And by “painful,” I mean seeing the annoyed look on the cashier’s face, lol. Isn’t that what it’s really about? Who knows, haha.

You must be beautiful and have a great figure—I’m jealous. But maybe your personality hasn’t quite caught up yet. I don’t think a relationship can develop deeply unless you have the kind of personality that makes someone want to keep seeing you and get to know you better. People skills are pretty difficult to pin down. Still, I’d say being cheerful and genuine is a good place to start. Papas like girls who are bright, friendly, and sexy. On top of that, it helps to have a depth to your personality that makes men want to learn more about you, along with a trusting, affectionate attitude toward men. If you work on those qualities, your chances of maintaining ongoing arrangements might improve.

Yeah, it probably wouldn’t last with me either. I mean, the solution is simple: just offer a standard allowance. Otherwise, you’ll never know the real reason it isn’t working. Try setting it at the average rate. If it still doesn’t last, that’s the scary part. That’s when you should think about the reason. If you’re unwilling to budge on the allowance, then, as Mac said, offer “something no one else can.” When it comes to an enjoyable, long-lasting relationship, I think amateur women ultimately put the person first and the allowance second. Personally, no matter how cute she is, an amateur woman who demands an allowance above the going rate scares me a little. It’s a turnoff. A relationship with someone who puts the allowance first is bound to get boring anyway. Why not just keep things casual and flexible between two amateurs? You might have an adult relationship (intimate) during the first few meetings. But once I realize, “Oh, so this is all there is,” I’d pull back.

You’re getting new offers, so that is strange. I wonder what it could be. You may look attractive, but perhaps there’s a slight issue with the way you speak or think. Maybe your insecurity is showing through…? Or, as the other respondents have said, perhaps you don’t have any particular strengths. Since you’re just an extremely ordinary person, they may feel there’s no need to meet you again. The women at soaplands can probably do more and are more skilled than you, after all. So you shouldn’t expect a high allowance.

If she’s getting five dates arranged a month and has been intimate three times with men after starting an adult relationship, she must be quite beautiful—and probably doesn’t have any major red flags either. Maybe she just hasn’t met an idiot papa like me who won’t budge even a little when a woman asks for 10 per meeting. Personally, I only continue seeing women I feel inclined to pay 16 or more per meeting. Things don’t last with girls who are fine with just 5 per meeting.

With that many offers, it’s strange that none of them last. You must be pretty attractive. The conversation is stiff and overly formal, so it isn’t fun. She never brings up topics herself. She keeps everything secret, so you can’t tell what kind of person she is at all. She shows no interest in what the man says and just listens with a smile. She’s completely passive. She has noticeable body odor. There are too many restrictions—don’t touch anything above my neck, don’t use your tongue, and so on. If you’re charging a high allowance, being ordinary won’t keep their interest.

As Mac mentioned, she may not have any particular strengths—or may have very few. There are plenty of women at the club who have some standout qualities and are happy to date for the average allowance the questioner mentioned. That’s why men probably decide to move on after meeting someone a few times. The reason men meet someone several times is likely that they hope intimacy will grow and they might discover her good qualities along the way.
