My friend Jasmine was around 30 at the time. She had a car bought for her in his name, but it was hers to use freely. She was also occasionally allowed to drive several of his other cars.
She already had a car of her own then, by the way.
Apparently, he eventually tried to buy a house worth ¥400 million for the two of them to live in, which scared her, so she broke up with him.
I’m keeping my current situation under wraps.

I can afford to buy my own apartment and car, but he made me a member of an exclusive resort club. I think he probably wants me to spend the time I have outside of work and family with him.
Also, when we were talking about how my current work could develop and where I saw it going, he became the owner of the business. He lets me handle things on the ground, so I can focus on my work without having to worry about various burdens.
When all is said and done, I think he supports me as I work frantically and give talks in a world completely different from his own field.

I think it depends on the type of relationship.
There are three women I care about deeply, and I teach each of them how to earn money in a way that suits her individual style.
In other words, we’re working together so they can eventually become independent of me. I’m more or less helping them figure out the right direction for their efforts.
I give them the money they need for that separately from their allowance.
I have more than enough money to buy each of them an apartment and a car, but I feel that would close off their future possibilities, so I’m not really inclined to do it.
I tried to imagine the kind of woman I’d want to buy an apartment or car for, and I think she might be someone like…
The mistress.
Someone like Kumiko Omachi from *Section Chief Kōsaku Shima*.
I’m the type of papa who enjoys a “raising game,” so I don’t actually want a mistress. But if a woman like that came along, I might buy her an apartment.

I think getting a car bought for you is pretty rare unless you meet a man who’s really into cars.
If you live in central Tokyo, you don’t really need one anyway.
As for having an apartment bought for you, I think you’d need to be in a long-term mistress-like relationship—more or less being financially kept by the man.
