I understand that most female members are here primarily for the money. I’m not trying to mock that—after all, the middle-aged men who gather here generally have impure motives too, so we’re all in the same boat.
That said, whatever your circumstances may be, if it’s making you feel depressed from the moment you wake up, you should probably quit. In fact, you’re causing us trouble as well, so please do leave.
Doing things against your own wishes for money from a young age will eventually come back to haunt you, regardless of your gender, like a body blow. And of course, I don’t mean that in a good way.

I’m a column writer, Flagmaker.
I make up my mind based on the amount of time involved.
Even if I have to swallow my pride, bow down, and do whatever it takes to turn it into work, it’ll be over in an hour or two at most. So I tell myself, “It’ll all be over in two hours,” and brace myself for it.
It’s pretty tough when there’s no end point in sight, but with papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), there is a set time limit, so it’s relatively easy, right?

When work is unpleasant or I’m not really feeling motivated, I push myself and take that first step.
But this is about a dating club, so I think it’s perfectly fine to take things more casually.
Don’t do anything you don’t want to do.
If you’re not in the mood, just decline.
The women I’m seeing are not just 30, but over 40 years younger than me.
They don’t seem to be coming reluctantly—but if it’s all an act, they’re truly first-rate actresses.
If you absolutely have to go on the date,
please meet the man as a truly first-rate dating companion.
I’m sure he’s eagerly looking forward to seeing you.

> I’m feeling depressed since I have a date today with a man 30 years older than me.
If it’s making you feel that miserable, I think you’re better off not seeing him. If you feel you have no choice because you need the money, you should consider other options.
If this is about your first date through Universe, you can also turn down the offer.
Tell the staff, “I’m only comfortable dating men up to 20 years older than me.”
If you do that, you probably won’t receive offers from men older than that.
Even if you haven’t told them, the man’s approximate age is listed, so you can still decline when an offer comes in.
The best outcome is for both the man and the woman to feel glad they met. It’s much better to decline than to go on a date unwillingly.
That said, sometimes you may feel gloomy because of the age difference, but meet him and find that he’s actually a nice person. I think you should consider how you want to handle that possibility.

I’m naturally carefree, so I’m usually in a cheerful mood. Even if something unpleasant happens, meeting my monthly arrangement partner gets me back to feeling happy in seconds, so I don’t really have any worries.

Are you doing okay? I imagine many of the people involved are in their 50s or older, but if you’ve chosen this for yourself, I think it’s best either to view it as a transactional relationship so you don’t feel depressed, or only see people who don’t make you feel that way.
That said, I’m sure it’s not always that simple. When I’m dreading something, I think about something fun afterward, a delicious meal, or going shopping for something I want. I plan a little reward for myself!
