I respect the woman who’s being dragged around in this bitter cold by someone who assumes his own standards are the norm.

I’m Aya, a female member.
Every month, my papa (a male supporter) and I go together to visit his maternal family’s grave. It’s in the countryside of Kyushu, and since I grew up in the country too, I enjoy taking in the peaceful rural scenery and happily tag along.
But we don’t do that over the New Year holidays. I always assumed it was normal for both of us to spend that time with our families. Everyone’s different, I guess.

People are pretty evenly split on whether visiting family graves over the New Year holidays is recommended, depending on their religious sect.
But putting that aside, meeting someone I’m dating over the New Year holidays isn’t even an option for me.
Even if they asked to meet, I’d turn them down without hesitation.
“Spend time with your family.”
That’s what I’d tell them.

Visiting a grave at the end of the year isn’t something people normally do, like visiting during the equinox holidays.
I can’t really imagine taking your PJ to visit a grave in this bitter cold snap, but I guess it’s fine if she says she wants to go. Still, I suppose it could be a problem if she gets upset when you say no and threatens to withhold your allowance or end things.
Most people probably spend New Year’s with their families, if you think about it.
