I think you’ll understand this too in another 40 or 50 years, but if you knew the exact day you were going to die, you could plan your spending and use up all your money accordingly.
In reality, though, none of us knows when we’ll die.
You might live another 20 years past the average life expectancy. If you spent all your money, how would you support yourself?
Besides, if you follow that logic, wouldn’t it mean that you should show compassion toward someone like that and give them more rather than being stingy?
I can’t help thinking it would be better if people avoided criticizing others too much, kept the other person’s feelings in mind, and built a relationship that benefits themselves as well.
