If you’re asking a question, please clearly state what you want to know, such as:
“My papa (a male supporter) keeps telling me the same stories over and over. What should I do?”
As it stands, your post is just a monologue rather than a question, so it may be hidden.
I’m leaving it up because I thought you might be asking, “What should I do?” but from next time on, there’s a good chance posts like this will be hidden.
Now, getting back to the actual question:
If someone keeps repeating the same story, I think it’s fine to say something like, “You told me that the other day,” or “That’s true.”
I think it’s pretty common for people to repeat things when they really want to get their point across.

I’m in my 60s too, so I feel like this is about me, and it hits a little too close to home.
When someone tells the same story over and over, I think it’s usually because:
〇 They’ve forgotten they already told you.
〇 It’s something important to them.
〇 It’s an unimportant, easy-to-talk-about story.
It’s probably one of those three.
Unless you think, “This is important,” just let it go. A casual nod and the occasional “uh-huh” should be enough.

Oh! One important thing…
When listening, it’s very important not to interrupt the flow of the conversation. Nod along, and sometimes vary the strength and intonation of your responses.
For office workers in particular, whether or not you can do this makes a huge difference in how your boss views you. You can see why some people get promoted faster than others（笑）
It’s interesting if you look at the people around you.
