I don’t mean to endorse the customs of Jesus, but as someone who has been relentlessly drained of gifts, allow me to offer my humble answer.
It’s already over budget, and I’m not sure whether a watch counts as jewelry, but Joe’s top recommendation is a watch: the Grand Seiko Elegance Collection, ¥616,000 including tax.

I did some research. I figured a Rolex Oyster Perpetual would be around ¥570,000, a Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra bracelet around ¥500,000, and, for bags, a CHANEL chain wallet around ¥500,000.
They all have relatively high resale value. I was also told by my papa (a male supporter) that it’s best to avoid rings with specific sizes, as well as Hermès and Bulgari watches, since their resale prices reportedly drop sharply.
