I believe that with gifts, the time and effort someone spends thinking about the recipient while choosing the gift are more valuable than the gift itself.
When I used to work at a shop, I really enjoyed helping customers choose gifts for others and thought it was a wonderful experience.
When someone gives me a gift, I feel happy imagining that they chose it while thinking, “What do they like?” “Will they use it?” “Will they dislike it?” or “Will it suit them?”

Gifts are important. There’s no point in giving her something she doesn’t want or won’t be happy to receive.
Pay more attention to her in your day-to-day interactions, and don’t miss the hints she gives you.
If you can’t figure out what she wants, ask her—or go shopping together.
If you have a general idea of her tastes and what she might like, visit a shop that fits those preferences and choose the best option while consulting with the staff.
Please don’t settle for men who have no initiative and can’t be relied on.
It feels even better when the fact that he chose it himself really resonates with you, doesn’t it?

The best thing to do is ask her directly. Also, if you tell her your budget in advance, she’ll likely let you know what she wants within that range, which makes things easier.

Is she a PJ, perhaps?
For now, I’d recommend simply asking her. Alternatively, you could give her an inexpensive gift, such as a branded hand cream, and buy her what she wants separately during your date.
Women are generally happier when you give them something they genuinely want rather than trying to surprise them.
