After reading the previous question and answer, I’m seriously jealous of the Bulgari jewelry, Cartier pieces, and Rolex watches people get as gifts!!! So lucky—I’d love to meet a papa who gives presents like that! I’m sure there are all kinds of papas out there, but could you tell me how to figure out which ones are worth pursuing?

Gifts are an expression of being moved When you meet someone organically outside a club, there’s an exciting sense of anticipation even just wondering whether you’ll make it to a first date. If that first date is not only enjoyable but truly moving, you may want to express those feelings by giving her something like Hermès or Rolex. But there’s no element of competition, bargaining, or a contract involved—it’s simply a gift that comes from the pure joy of having met someone so wonderful. You don’t even mind if you never see her again; you’re just happy that you met her that day. Apparently, that comes across as a sign of genuine confidence and generosity. If you don’t meet again, it would simply end there, but that has never happened to me. There’s only been one woman every five or ten years whom I’ve felt that way about. Women like that are extremely rare. In a club, however, things are contractual from the very beginning, and those feelings can also be conveyed through an allowance or a long-term arrangement. I doubt there are any women for whom gifts are more important than those things. If a gift is considered necessary, it could mean that the allowance is unsatisfactory—or it could simply be seen as something separate, an extra. Even at a club, unlimited gifts are possible, but as long as the relationship is seen as a club arrangement, that can be difficult. I think it’s also important not to lose sight of what matters to you and what your objective is. —Paper Airplane

I’m Aya, a female member. I think that if you put in a reasonable amount of effort, you can receive things without having to ask. For example: replying immediately to messages from your papa, fully embodying his ideal woman and then some—including your appearance and clothing, never asking for anything, doing whatever you can each day to make him happy, while still remembering to express your own opinions. I didn’t ask for anything myself this year for my birthday or Christmas, either. Once you’ve built a relationship of trust, I think giving gifts becomes enjoyable for both people. So I’d suggest that you first get to know a relatively wealthy papa well and build a trusting relationship with him.

A question like: “I’m looking for a girlfriend who’s good at blowjobs. How can I tell whether she’s skilled before we start dating?” I’m dating a blowjob goddess, but she was so completely wholesome that I almost wanted to ask her, “Are you familiar with blowjobs?” It’s impossible to tell in advance. —A loser who lost the game

I’m Joe. I don’t know much about jewelry, but men who give expensive watches as gifts tend to be incredibly high-maintenance. Are you prepared for that?

I’m Flagmaker, a column writer. About “figuring them out”: even if you do, you’ll never get any presents if you keep relying entirely on the other person. You have to steer things so they’ll want to give you a present. Draw out as much as you can from them, whether it’s a lot or a little. That’s what people who are good at this do.

I’m Kazu, a male member. You can probably figure her out from her reaction by saying something like, “Apparently, my friend gets Bulgari jewelry, Cartier items, and Rolex watches from her papa.” I once had a woman tell me, “My previous papa gave me this Vuitton bag as a gift,” and I replied, “I don’t think I’ll be giving you presents. Sorry.” Even so, she’s still been contacting me to meet. Good luck.
