Recently, I’ve noticed that sometimes the profile is written by someone other than the person who conducted the interview. If I take a somewhat cynical view, it feels like that might be a sign that the girl isn’t someone the interviewer would particularly recommend. But if that’s not the case, I’d really like to hear you say so.

Universe Club’s Mamiya here. I can relate to some of what you’re saying, since I often tend to look at things rather critically myself. For quite some time, it has been difficult for staff handling clients on the front lines to find enough time to create profiles. I used to think that was just an excuse—that they were being complacent. The club comments are where interview staff can really showcase their skills. Because they’re so important, I think many staff members find them difficult to tackle. Since the quality can be influenced by the interviewer’s insight, writing ability, and workload at the time, we decided to outsource this task internally. The digital profile contains plenty of information that gives you a sense of the person’s character. And by watching the video, you can get a feel for what meeting her in person would be like. I’ve also heard people say that comments written by male staff are inferior. I do think it’s true that being the same gender can give you a different perspective. Of course, none of this should happen, but interviewers are human too. Behind the scenes, they may prioritize women they personally like or those they want to recommend. Everyone agrees that uploading wonderful women to the members-only site as quickly as possible is the best approach. That’s what we’re working toward now, and at Universe Club, we operate as a team, covering one another’s strengths and weaknesses.

The Japanese seems a little odd to me—the phrases “that’s not the case” and “that’s correct” appear to mean opposite things. All that happened is that our internal structure changed, and a new role was created for staff members responsible for writing profiles. Because there are only a few staff members in that role, they don’t write profiles for every woman. You may be wondering whether there’s some deeper reason for that, but that’s not the case. Until now, one staff member handled multiple tasks: interviewing women, taking their photos, writing staff comments, registering them on the members’ site, arranging dates, meeting men through the concierge service, responding to men’s inquiries about the women, explaining the membership screening process to men, and handling complaints. Those duties were simply divided up among three departments, with each department specializing in different tasks. That’s all.

I’m Dai, a male member. That’s not the case. My understanding is that someone other than the person who conducted the interview writes the profile so it can be published as quickly as possible. I can’t remember exactly when, but I do recall filling out a survey about it.
