In the past, I noticed that most of the women I interviewed had cracked phone screens, and I wondered, “How do they manage to drop them so often?”
But I guess the papas were thinking the same thing and ended up buying them new phones.
Maybe phones are more crack-resistant these days, because I don’t see as many people carrying phones with cracked screens as I used to.
That said, if you’re carrying a normal-looking phone, I don’t think the topic of buying you a new one is likely to come up. So how about buying a used phone with a cracked but still-functional screen and deliberately using it during your dates?
If the man likes you, he might offer to buy you a new one.
Of course, with the latest iPhone having just been released and getting a lot of attention, the conversation might naturally turn to something like, “Which iPhone should I get?”
Another option would be to save up your allowance and buy it yourself instead of having someone buy it for you.
In that case, I think it would be fine to say something like, “I want to buy an iPhone 13 Pro, so could we meet more often?”

I once had a papa (a male supporter) buy me an iPhone because I was using a beat-up old phone, but it might not work if you already have the latest model... So how about finding a new papa and using an old, beat-up phone whenever you meet him? I’m sure he’ll buy you a new one.

When we’d only just met, I was rushed off my feet with work and dropped my phone. It cracked, but I kept using it since it still worked.
“Having a phone this cracked really isn’t like you—you’re usually so put-together…”
He opened Apple’s website and ordered me the latest model.
Whenever he thinks I need something, he just orders it for me.

Why not casually let your papa (a male supporter) know that your iPhone has been acting up? A little groundwork is important.
