How are questions that receive no answers handled internally? Is the responsibility being shifted onto Mr. Maezawa?

Kida, the representative, will answer this one. We had actually been discussing the need to officially clarify this. We’re very sorry. We’re currently working on incorporating the following into our guidelines: Regarding the approach to answering questions: ・Responders should always identify themselves by name and position, then share their personal opinion. Since it’s just an individual opinion, it may be wrong. Please don’t take it as the company’s official view. ・Responding is not mandatory. Our policy is that staff members answer only the questions they want to answer. We believe it’s important for responses to include human emotions and each person’s own interpretation. ・Just as responders are being evaluated by the person asking the question, please understand that the questioner is also being evaluated by the responder in terms of the question’s quality and importance. That said, the truth is that, deep down, we’ve been pushing most of this onto Maezawa. Internally, people have been thinking things like: “Is Maezawa really that bored?” “This answer is so damn boring.” “Who even is Maezawa?” But then his greatest strength—his complete inability to read the room—kicks in, and we end up thinking, “Well, Maezawa’s going to answer it, so I guess it’s fine.” Things like this become incredibly boring when people respond out of obligation, so we can only be grateful that Maezawa diligently answers in his personal capacity outside of working hours. That said, we do occasionally post incredibly boring answers, so please bear with us.

Maezawa here. Questions that don’t get any answers are usually either: - Questions addressed to a specific person, or - Questions about something only a particular person knows. If someone specifies who they want an answer from, I feel like, “Well, what’s the point of me answering?” (Though every now and then I do jump in with an answer anyway…) When it’s something I don’t know, even we’re left wondering, “I wonder when someone who does know will answer?” I’m not the person in charge, so no responsibility gets pushed onto me either. I answer when I feel like answering, and I don’t answer when I don’t feel like it. That’s pretty much how it is. (笑)
