I’m only talking about Okamoto’s “001” here. A box only comes with three, and each one even comes with a stand that holds it at an angle.
I know they’re expensive, but they’re still consumables, you know? I agree that there’s no need to make a big luxury statement by putting them in a paulownia box.
I’d gladly pay for them, so I wish the company would just sell them in a 12-pack, with several individually wrapped ones linked together like a string of beads. Maybe send them that request.

It’s impossible to say because there’s no description at all of what the excessive packaging was like.
P.S.
For Okamoto products, the maximum shelf life is six years from the date of manufacture. The expiration date on condom products is required under JIS, Japan’s national industrial standards. It will always be printed somewhere on the product, such as the package, so be sure to check before use.
So, as long as they haven’t passed their expiration date, it seems you don’t necessarily need to throw them away yet.
