I’m thinking about doing vaginal exercises, but there are so many products available that I’m having trouble deciding which one is best. If you know of any products you’d recommend, could you please let me know? I’m looking because I’d like to make my partner feel even better.

Mamiya from Universe Tokyo here. Gravity is always at work, so it’s not just your cheeks and breasts that tend to sag—your private area can loosen up too, right? Apparently, weakened pelvic floor muscles can make you more prone to urinary leakage, so external fixes alone probably won’t do much. It has to come from within! Strengthening your own muscles is the best approach. I recommend Pilates! Once, a Pilates instructor gave me some seriously tough-love guidance on moving the pelvis anatomically and tightening the vagina as if I were zipping up a pair of skinny jeans from the bottom up! She pointed out that women have three openings, and while we can control the anus and urination with our own will, it makes no sense that we can’t control vaginal pressure. That really opened my eyes. I also tried menstrual training, hoping to become like women in old Edo who could release their periods in the toilet and say goodbye to sanitary pads. I eventually gave up on that, but I did switch from disposable pads to cloth ones, which led me to believe that neither men nor menstruation should be allowed to run freely or rely on disposable products.

I’m Paper Airplane, a male member. If you want your partner to enjoy herself even more, I think it’s worth knowing that men’s sensitivity is just as delicate and nuanced as women’s, rather than focusing only on vaginal exercises. It can be hard to tell because there’s often an attitude of “as long as he climaxes, it’s fine,” but when it comes to being caressed or touched, many things can feel a little unsatisfying: too much pressure, too much friction, slight pain, movements that are too fast or intense, or an awkward angle. Of course, everyone has different preferences and chemistry, but even when two people are caressing each other, very few people can naturally say nothing at all. And when the other person is making an effort, it can be difficult to tell them what you want. Unless it’s really unbearable, you may end up desperately trying to climax to match their efforts… Even if you’re satisfied with what happens, without a natural sense of compatibility, it becomes difficult to keep seeing each other four or five times—or continue long-term.
