I’ve reached out to nearly 20 women, but not a single one has made it past the “third-date hurdle.” Is it normally this hit-or-miss, or am I being too picky? (In most cases, I’m the one who ends things.)

I’m Saito♪, a columnist and male member. The questioner’s “Am I difficult?” caught my attention a little. Could it be that you’re simply too serious? That may be why you’re having trouble breaking out of your shell and keep making offers to women who are similar to you—or, even if they’re different, still within a narrow range. If that’s the case, I don’t think making offers to women recommended by the staff will necessarily solve the problem. What do you think? How about inviting several women from the ones you’ve selected out to dinner—women who seem willing to listen—and seriously asking them what they think you’re looking for? It’s not exactly “seeing yourself from an outside perspective,” but I don’t think you’ll get an answer from anyone other than the people you’ve actually met. You could also view the dating club as a way to discover more about yourself. In this somewhat dubious world of dating clubs, I think genuine sincerity is something people find very appealing.
