Among the female members I previously requested introductions to, some no longer have profiles displayed, while others are marked “withdrawn.” What are the reasons a profile might not be visible for reasons other than withdrawal? ※The questioner is a male member.

Thank you for your question. I’m Kida, the club representative, and I’ll answer it. After looking into the matter with our staff, it appears this happened due to a mistake by the staff member responsible for entering the information. Normally, after a female member leaves the club, her membership number itself is retained to maintain system consistency. It is hidden throughout the member site, but her club name remains visible in the offer history. Also, when registering a new female member, her club name occasionally happens to match that of a former member. In such cases, an alert appears on our internal management site to prevent staff from confusing the two. It seems the staff member tried to avoid this by adding “(withdrawn)” to the name of the former member so that other staff wouldn’t make a mistake. However, according to our actual operating procedures, this change should have been made on the management system (CMS), not on the member site. I imagine the staff member who noticed it thought, “Well, it should be fine—there doesn’t seem to be any particular problem.” Your question gave us the opportunity to review our internal procedures. Thank you. We sincerely apologize for causing you concern.

This is Saito, the column writer♪ I’m guessing that if a woman contacts them saying, “I’d like to leave the club…,” she’s marked as having withdrawn. But if the staff can’t reach her when checking whether she wants to remain registered, they probably take the approach of simply “deleting” her. There may occasionally be requests to remove someone so that a particular male member can’t see her profile, but based on my past list of women and my conversations with the staff, I feel like it ties in with comments such as: “We just haven’t been able to get in touch with her anymore…” Maybe I’ve been rejected by everyone too, haha. It must be a lot of work to confirm the continued registration of 7,000 people. I honestly think the people at Universe are amazing—especially compared with other clubs.
