However, please understand that his response is based on his own experiences and information, and does not necessarily reflect how Universe handles scouts. If you search for “scouts,” you’ll find posts from a year ago saying things like, “Feel free to contact us about starting a new business relationship!” So why is the opening so formal this time? Because our current policy is: Scouts: absolutely not. As U.S.T. also mentioned above, we operate an online affiliate program, and we had all our previous business relationships with scouting companies switched over to this affiliate program. Some people familiar with the subject may think, “Isn’t this essentially the same thing, just having women click an affiliate link?” But it’s completely different. The problem with scouts seems to be that they can take a cut of women’s earnings and make it easier to restrict women’s freedom of choice. The issue of women being coerced into appearing in adult videos is a perfect example of that. Under an advertising affiliate program, when a woman who sees an advertisement signs up, the person running that advertisement receives a performance-based commission. In broad terms, it’s similar to scouting. However, with affiliate marketing, there is no exploitation of women or restriction on their choices. Women apply of their own free will and can leave of their own free will. An affiliate marketer will not tell them, “You need to earn more.” The affiliate’s compensation is paid as an advertising expense, and the amount is set at a level comparable to the acquisition cost for other forms of advertising. So, to sum up: The club does not provide women’s personal information to scouts or affiliate marketers without the women’s consent. Even if we are asked, we simply respond, “Please ask her directly.” In the past, we did provide scouts with women’s club names. The percentage paid back is an affiliate commission, so as U.S.T. stated, it amounts to 30–40% of the setting fee.
