I wasn’t quite sure what you meant by the last part of your proposal:
“Why not ask whether there are also people who would like to be chosen by men more efficiently?”
I wasn’t sure whether you meant:
- Asking female members during their interviews, “Would you pay for the reverse version?”
- Asking male members during their interviews, “Would you be happy if there were a reverse version?”
So I’ll answer both.
● Reverse version—women buying men
This has existed for a long time through escort services overseas. In Japan, if you search for “host delivery services,” you’ll find services that dispatch good-looking men.
At Eltana, which has been in business for 10 years, the rate is time-based—6,000 yen per hour. That’s because it operates under a delivery-hostess-service license.
As far as I know, there aren’t any dating clubs in Japan offering a true reverse version—women buying men—apart from scam operations. Roppongi File and Ashinaga Ojisan, for example, seem to allow female members to make reverse offers.
So for now, this is on my list of “things I might do someday if I feel like it, but probably won’t because I don’t think it would be profitable.”
It could make for an interesting talking point, and with women’s incomes rising these days, I do think there’s genuine demand.
But you wouldn’t pay 50,000 yen for a setup, would you?
You might pay 20,000–30,000 yen, perhaps. But would you give that man an allowance as part of the relationship?
If we put out an ad recruiting men saying, “You can go on dates with women and receive pocket money. Men who are clean, considerate, and absolutely able to keep secrets wanted,” the process of finding decent candidates sounds exhausting to me. I’d also be worried about complaints from our female customers.
Maybe I’ll do it someday if I feel like it.
● Reverse offers—women choosing men
This is something I’d definitely like to do someday.
The feature we’re currently working on is:
“A feature that displays a list of approved male profiles to female members.”
At present, male profiles are shown only to the women receiving a date offer from that man. If we expand the feature, anonymous female members will be able to approach men who have chosen to make their profiles public.
I’m not sure whether we’ll implement this through Universe, but we’ll start by moving forward with that feature!
Once it’s available, women should be able to use it right away for an admission fee of 30,000 yen and a setup fee of around 20,000 yen.
