I’m a little lost in my 60s. I’m married, so I always shop for clothes with my partner, and everything has to pass their approval. Even when it’s a brand I like, anything too flashy gets rejected. What gets the green light are well-made pieces that look refined, with just a touch of style. Women’s eyes for fashion are pretty sharp—not just my partner’s. Apparently, their friends sometimes say, “You really dress them in nice clothes...” So they can’t afford to let their guard down when it comes to what I wear in public. If I buy something without asking, I get scolded... lol

Since my date will also make an effort with her outfit, I try to dress appropriately so that we look well-matched.

I’m a male UC member and also a member of the new salon. If I may offer my perspective, I try to dress in a way that’s as simple and understated as possible, while still having a high-quality feel. I don’t usually wear a full suit. More often, I go with a jacket and trousers. I wear reasonably good brands, but I don’t choose anything with logos plastered all over it (not that I’d buy clothes like that in the first place…). There have been plenty of times when, after going to the room and hugging a woman, she’s said, “Wow, the texture feels so different!” (lol) Since it’s a date, I also like to add one subtle touch of color to an otherwise simple outfit. For example, I might wear burgundy-toned shoes or add a touch of blue with my watch—just one detail that I’ve put some thought into. I sometimes deliberately draw attention to my watch, and when a woman says, “That watch is so cute!” it can lead to something like, “Shall I get us matching watches?” This happens fairly often.
