> I’m still a university student and don’t have the financial means to casually purchase a round-trip ticket.
In that case, please consult the staff. We generally don’t arrange this, but if they ask the man and he agrees, he may sometimes purchase the ticket for you.
However, in most cases, the man will cancel the offer, and the staff will generally steer things away from that option because coordinating it is too much trouble.
That said, I’ve personally had a man pay for my ticket in advance after I discussed it with him. So if the staff member shares my perspective and the man really wants to meet you, there is a possibility he may pay upfront.
Still, I think you should consider the odds to be less than 1%.
> Is it possible for the club to instruct the man to provide the transportation expenses?
Since it’s a rule, if a man ignores it, the staff will properly warn him. If he refuses to cover the actual transportation costs, they will tell him to pay them.
If he still refuses, the club may expel him and cover the transportation expenses itself.
However, as I mentioned before, some men deliberately select relationship type B2 and then invite you from the very first meeting, saying things like, “It’s far away,” or “I’m covering your transportation.”
So if you receive an invitation for a long-distance date despite selecting B1 or B2, you should probably be cautious.
In that case, you could say something like:
“Going somewhere far away would be difficult for me, so if you live in Tokyo, I’d prefer to meet in Tokyo.”
Sometimes the man may come to you instead. (I’d say the odds are about 50/50.)
> Have you ever experienced trouble, such as not receiving the round-trip transportation expenses?
I feel like it may have happened, but I don’t think the woman ultimately ended up losing money. (I believe the man either paid later, or the club covered it if he refused.)
However, if you fail to receive the allowance for a private encounter after dinner, the club can generally do little more than expel the man. So if you don’t make sure you receive it, you may end up getting nothing at all. Please be careful.
