What do you think?
Rather than someone with only ¥1 million, wouldn’t you go for someone who has more money?
It takes the same amount of effort to date someone and receive an allowance from them, so wouldn’t you just avoid anyone who only has ¥1 million to their name in the first place?
The time-to-money ratio is way too poor.

Hmm, I think you’re misunderstanding women.
I’ve never met a woman who demanded, “Give me the last million yen you have.”
If a woman gets the impression that a man doesn’t have much money, she’ll usually end the relationship. It’s not that she wants to take money from someone who can’t afford it.
If she sees a man who only has one million yen, most women would probably wonder, “Why is someone like this registered with an arrangement club?”
The club also receives feedback like, “He seemed short on money,” so I assume they generally stop introducing women to that man afterward.
Men sometimes give feedback saying that a woman’s relationship type was different from what they expected, or that her sense of money was unusual. But when you consider that she’s dating other men, you may start to think the man’s sense of money is actually the unusual one.
I also understand that women aren’t trying to drain someone financially.
Realistically, most people would want to date someone wealthy and financially comfortable. In fact, that’s true of most women. I’ve never met a woman who intended to take all one million yen from a man who only had that much.

Not “most,” but “all of them.” I think one in ten papa-katsu women see men like that as easy prey and targets to take advantage of.
I was going to write one in a hundred, following Anzenchitai-san’s example, but I feel like the actual number is a little higher.
If this were ordinary matchmaking between men and women, without money involved, then—as Anzenchitai-san said—it might work out for one in a hundred, or perhaps even more.
> I’ve never seen a woman who intended to drain every last one of the million yen possessed by a man who only had a million yen.
I have, though. She was intense. She would keep taking everything from someone who had fallen into her trap until his life was ruined.
She was the “Itadaki-joshi” type—basically, the gender-swapped version of a host, to put it simply.
From what I observed, she cared less about the other person’s financial power than about how devoted he was to her. Besides, a man who says he “only has a million yen” merely means he has a million yen in spare cash. If he becomes obsessed, he may well be capable of handing over ten or twenty million.
> Wouldn’t they simply avoid men who only have a million yen to their name?
No, no. Someone who really only has a million yen wouldn’t say, “I only have a million yen.” Women who get hooked on hosts aren’t wealthy heiresses, are they?
It’s only natural that, given the choice between someone who brags about being rich but is stingy with his allowance and a papa who says, “I only have a million yen,” while seeming likely to pay a generous allowance, they would prioritize the latter.
But more than that, I want you to read the part of my answer where I said “all of them, not most of them.” That’s the point I was really trying to make.
Regarding the earlier question, “I wonder if there’s a woman who would date me—a man who only has a million yen and sings his heart out,” I interpreted it as him having met such a woman and asking, “Could she really be telling the truth?” But everyone answered on the assumption that he hadn’t met a woman like that, right? All I did was answer, “That woman is lying—100 percent. Stay away from her.”
The truly frightening women don’t approach men who have money; they approach men who look like they can be made to pay. They have no mercy when it comes to the other person’s financial situation. They’re just like yakuza from the Showa era.
And women like that tend to have an innocent, delicate appearance, too. Just like hosts.

I think so too.
Still, out of 100 women, there’s usually at least one you really click with. That’s why it’s important to keep making offers until one works out.
The question is whether you’ll find the right one first—or run out of money.
