I signed up when I was 41 and quit within six months, but I still received two or three offers. I’m 46 now—would there really be no demand for me anymore? I live in a rural area nearly two hours from the interview location, so I know there aren’t many people around to begin with, and that my age makes things difficult.

I don’t believe there’s such a thing as an age when demand suddenly drops to zero. If you received two or three offers within less than six months when you were 41, that’s clear proof that people were genuinely interested in you. Turning 46 doesn’t mean your value suddenly disappears. It’s true that living outside a major city and having to travel to the interview location, as well as being older, may put you at a disadvantage in some respects. But that doesn’t mean “it’s impossible now.” It simply means you may have fewer opportunities to connect with someone. In this world, compatibility matters more than numbers. There are certainly men who appreciate the calmness that comes with age, a comfortable sense of distance, and thoughtful conversation. You’ll naturally become less compatible with those who are only looking for youth, but in return, you may have a better chance of meeting people whose values align with yours from the start. Since you’ve experienced papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) once before, you already understand how things work and what the atmosphere is like. There’s no need to force yourself to act younger or stretch beyond your comfort zone. It’s perfectly natural to feel that things might be difficult. But if a part of you is thinking, “I want to find out just one more time,” I hope you’ll honor that feeling. You don’t need to push yourself or try too hard. Simply stay true to who you are now and quietly see whether the right connection comes along. I think that’s more than enough.

Some women in their mid-40s still receive offers, so ultimately, I think it depends on your potential. That said, re-registering probably won’t make as much of an impact as signing up as a new member.

Honestly, I’m in my 60s, but if the woman were 46, I feel like I could probably talk her into having sex if I seriously tried. It’s been over ten years since I last did anything like that—before I started this activity. There’s another thing that bothers me quite a lot: I can’t respect someone as a person when I think, “You’re 46 and struggling financially, so you’re selling your body? What kind of career have you built over the course of your life?” I really mean that. The women I’ve dated privately in the past have been things like female executives at listed companies and female doctors—women who were successful and financially independent, regardless of their field. Some of them even paid far more in taxes than I did. This perspective probably opened your eyes, didn’t it? Women may fall for a man’s DNA, but men are the same way. We also have the desire to father children with superior DNA. Some women might say, “I’m not actually short of money. I only say it’s about money because my pride as a woman won’t let me admit it, and being openly driven by lust would be embarrassing.” But from your late 30s onward, it’s better not to say you’re doing it because you’re struggling financially. On the other hand, I once heard some cool guys in their 20s who go to swinging clubs say, “We could sleep with plenty of younger women without coming to places like this. But in real life, it’s hard to meet older, mature women who are experienced and know how to please us. That’s why we come here.” Anyway, I hope this gives you something to think about. People around 20 possess the asset of potential. Even if they’re struggling financially now, dropped out of high school, working part-time, and doing papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), they might turn out to be incredibly successful someday. When someone in their late 30s or older says they’re doing papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) for money, it forces you to face reality. To me, papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) is a fantasy world—a Disneyland. I don’t want to see the person inside the mascot costume there. I do go to swinging clubs with girls, but I’ve never gone alone as a man. I don’t think I could compete with all those young guys. It’s the same feeling as saying, “If I were a 47-year-old woman, I wouldn’t do papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan). If I needed money, I’d earn it steadily through a regular daytime job, and if I were frustrated by my sex drive, I’d go to a swinging club.” That’s why, to me, this question is basically the same as asking, “I’m a man in my 60s. If I go alone to a swinging club at my age, do you think I’ll be able to find a woman who’ll take an interest in me?” So I end up writing something harsher than I probably should. Don’t you think a 47-year-old woman insisting on sex for money is similar to a man in his 60s saying, “I can still attract women even without money”?

I can’t say for certain without knowing the details, but generally speaking, I believe there’s a very good chance. In my view, there are definitely some male members who prefer older women. According to a woman in her late 40s whom I recently met, “Aside from Joe, every offer I’ve received has been from younger men.”
