Is there any evidence for that? lol
You’re just being misled by information on YouTube and online.
They do exist, but saying “most of them” is an exaggeration.
Most are students, office ladies, or part-timers.
There may be a lot of women who have dabbled in the adult entertainment industry, including part-time work, but even then, it’s definitely not “most” of them...
Even if they spend their money on hosts, what’s wrong with that?
They’re free to use the allowance they receive however they want.
It’s not like they’re deceiving anyone.
The fact that both you and I do papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) means our senses are already pretty warped anyway lol
We’re birds of a feather.

I can’t say for certain since I’m not with them every step of the way, but since I mainly meet office workers and students, I hardly ever hear about anyone lavishing money on hosts.
I didn’t know this beforehand, but surprisingly, quite a few spend money on Johnny’s idols.

Mac, your ID police work is amazing.
Host clubs and cabaret clubs really are a strange world when you take a step back. I wonder if they could be exported overseas.

When I search the ID, there’s no history, yet the writing is so confident that it doesn’t sound like a first-time question at all. Could this be the same person as the previous two questions? Well, whatever.
Is the topic hosts?
It’s true that some papa-katsu women spend heavily on hosts. But most of them use apps. Were there any from Univa? I can’t speak for Tokyo, but in Nagoya, women in their early twenties who live alone in auto-lock apartments costing around ¥70,000 a month, around the Joshidai-Koji area between Kawaramachi and Shinsakae, are very likely to be hooked on hosts.
Why do they live there? It’s convenient for getting to host clubs, and when a host feels like it, he may come over or call her over to take care of his needs. She basically stays on standby. I’m serious. Hosts are men too, so they have to take care of themselves somehow, and as I’ll explain later, some women are kept around specifically for that.
Unlike Tokyo, Nagoya still doesn’t have an ordinance regulating hosts’ unpaid tabs, so apparently hosts from Kabukicho also come to Nagoya periodically to earn extra money. But women trapped by unpaid tabs have to make tens or even hundreds of thousands—or millions—of yen by the end of the month, so they can’t afford to sit around waiting for dates through a dating club. They use apps to solicit meetups online. You know the type: “Anyone free today? Looking for someone to meet!” Women who do that almost every day are highly likely to be hooked on a host.
Those girls really do have a high rate of STIs. I think they accept unprotected encounters because they need the money. But then again, hosts are basically like drugs. Once someone’s completely gone, expecting them to have any common sense is pointless, pointless, pointless lol.
Hosts themselves can be like walking collections of STIs, too. I’m not saying every single one is like that, but a lot of them are handsome yet not exactly bright.
A host-loving girl I met once told me, “I go to host clubs without paying. That’s my pride.” What she meant was that hosts compete not only over sales but also over the number of nominations—or maybe there’s even a quota. The number of nominations is displayed in the club. Hosts with lots of nominations attract attention from customers and are more likely to get nominated again.
So apparently, to increase their nomination counts, hosts sometimes pay out of their own pockets to invite female acquaintances to the club and have them nominate them. In other words, she was one of those women.
She said she enjoyed drinking for free and basking in a sense of superiority while watching the other female customers spend money.
I once visited her studio apartment, and she had around twenty empty bottles of original champagne from various hosts displayed there.
Still, she said, “I never sleep alone. Either I go to a friend’s place, or a friend stays at mine.” I figured that “friend” was probably a host himself, so maybe they were both making convenient use of each other. A mutually beneficial arrangement, I suppose.
Another characteristic of girls who are hooked on hosts—or rather, the person who’s actually hooked is often the girl herself—is that they tend to tell you all about hosts while framing it as a story about a best friend: “I have a best friend who’s really into hosts…”
Oh, that reminds me. In Nagoya, there’s a papa in his sixties who runs a medical clinic and is apparently well known among hosts. He takes inexperienced papa-katsu women to host clubs, gets them hooked on hosts, and enjoys watching it happen. Not drugged-up, but host-soaked.
Apparently men are allowed to go to host clubs too. I’ve never been, though.
The papa doesn’t get kickbacks from the hosts or anything. Apparently, the hosts treat him like an incredibly generous older gentleman, so he enjoys being fawned over. Naturally, having influence with young, handsome hosts would feel pretty good. Maybe he also enjoys the thrill of getting girls hooked and bringing them down together with the hosts. It’s frightening.
So even if a papa says, “Want me to take you to a host club?” you probably shouldn’t go just out of curiosity.
Hosts apparently have it rough, too. Say a girl spends ¥3 million at a club but can only pay ¥2 million. The remaining ¥1 million becomes an unpaid tab—but apparently it doesn’t become a debt owed to the club. Instead, it becomes a debt owed by the nominated host to the club.
So even a host proudly advertised on a truck as a “¥100 million player” might technically owe the club ¥30 million if ¥30 million of his sales are unpaid tabs. He can’t quit until he pays off that debt, so he’s unable to leave. Meanwhile, the club makes the hosts compete over sales, so the unpaid tabs just keep piling up. They’re basically being kept captive.
No wonder unpaid customers end up being told, “Go overseas to earn money.”
Apparently, overseas work opportunities for PJ girls now pay several million yen per trip if the girl is attractive. About five years ago, when Macau and other overseas jobs were just getting started, it was only a few hundred thousand yen.
If there really are fewer attractive girls at Univa than there used to be, maybe they’re going overseas.
I wish the hosts could charm Chinese women and so on, too. Japanese men haven’t become as internationally marketable as Japanese women yet. Actually, host clubs seem to be a uniquely Japanese thing that doesn’t exist overseas.
Even cabaret clubs—and the whole concept of nightlife that doesn’t assume sex—is pretty uniquely Japanese. I once told a Russian person, “In Japan, there are places called cabaret clubs where customers buy drinks for the women, try to seduce them, and ultimately don’t get to have sex.” They absolutely refused to believe me and insisted I was making it up.

Where did you get that information?
I think you’ve simply become desensitized.
