I work in a job where my appearance is important, so I always make sure I look presentable. Even so, men have been avoiding me a lot lately.
Let me give you a specific example:
At an ai-seki bar, the guy left just two minutes after we started talking. (I told him I was a part-timer because being honest about my actual job would be a hassle.)
I do get approached by people recruiting for hostess clubs, though. That’s what I find puzzling.
I’d like to know why men avoid me.
You won’t know until you meet her, but based on the way she writes, I imagine she might be:
- Flashy-looking
- Intimidating
- Condescending and arrogant
- Not very cute or endearing
- Blunt and no-nonsense
- Not very sexy
- Self-centered
- Expensive to date
This is only my impression, so I could be completely wrong.
Why not try working at a hostess club and ask some of the customers who come in?

You may simply be assuming that they’re avoiding you.
There must be a field where you can come out on top based on your looks.

Cabaret clubs seem like they’d be a hit.
Actually, if you wrote “MONEY” on your face with a marker, people might get a kick out of it and keep the conversation going. Maybe that only works in Osaka, though.

There are a few possibilities, I think. For example:
1. She looks and acts so much like a hostess that it’s obvious what she’s there for.
2. Her dialect is so strong that I can’t understand what she’s saying.
3. Her breath is absolutely unbearable.
I have no real basis for saying this, but I’m guessing it’s probably 3.
