Try to find out whether his ex is a friends-with-benefits partner, whether you are, whether you both are, or whether he’s actually dating both of you.

He probably sometimes wants to sleep with his ex because he’s familiar with her body.
So I’d say there’s a 60% chance they’re still physically involved, and a 40% chance they’ve become friends because he’s gotten too used to her and lost interest in her sexually.
