After my husband passed away from an illness, I took early retirement from my company and now work part-time twice a week at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
I joined because I wanted to date a man with a solid background.
During the interview, I was told that I looked much younger than my age and that I was glamorous, attractive, and had a certain allure, so I was accepted.
The man I was introduced to, who is in his late 40s, says that women in their late 50s to 60s can’t get pregnant, so he wants to have sex without a condom. I’m at a loss about what to do.
I may not be able to get pregnant, but I’m afraid of sexually transmitted infections. As women get older like me, are there many men who want to have sex without a condom?

It’s not just about the possibility of pregnancy, and it’s not simply about the risk of STIs either. If a man told you, “I had a full STI screening yesterday and everything came back negative,” would you agree to it??
That’s not really the point. Isn’t it simply that you don’t want to go bare with a man you don’t even like? Then you should just refuse clearly. After that, it’s all about how you phrase it. If saying outright that you don’t like him feels too harsh, you can firmly say, “I’ve never gone bare with anyone except a marriage partner.” Whether that’s true or not is irrelevant—there’s no way for a man to verify it. Whoever states it confidently wins. If you want to soften it, you could say, “I do like you, but I’m sorry, this is something I just can’t do.”
You may feel uncomfortable using the word “like,” but it can be used in a very broad range of situations. Sometimes it expresses romantic feelings, and sometimes it’s used in a sentence like, “I like melon-flavored shaved ice.” So regardless of what you truly feel, there’s no contradiction—you’re fine.
To answer your question directly, plenty of men want to go bare, regardless of the woman’s age. It’s kind of like weeds growing: even if you wonder why they do it, there may not be much point in dwelling on it. I understand wanting to eradicate them, but be careful not to spray so much weed killer that you end up killing the street trees too.
