My boyfriend told me, “You look different without makeup, but not that different. You’re still beautiful.”

He said this when we went on a hot-spring trip recently. After washing my hair and taking off my makeup, we went into the hot spring together. I’ve shown him my bare face before, and we’ve actually had sex without makeup on more often than with it. He apparently once dated a woman whose bare face looked completely different from her makeuped face. But he said it wasn’t really an issue because she kept her makeup on during sex. Still, the way he said, “You look different without makeup, but you’re beautiful,” has been bothering me a little... If possible, I’d rather not show him my bare face. But he doesn’t like lipstick getting on him when we kiss—apparently because lipstick contains a lot of harmful substances—and prefers me without makeup. I’m 27 now and not exactly young anymore, so I’m not confident about my bare face. How should I handle this?
